Maytag Side by Side Defrost Board
ByMaytag side by side refrigerator(model#MSD2456DEW): Not cooling properly. I took all the food out of the freezer, then took off the panel back inside the freezer and found the evaporator coils all frosted up heavily. I ohmed out the defrost heater and defrost thermostat(while frosty) for continuity, both checked out good. So with both parts testing good, then the only part left is the defrost board. I changed it, worked great.
Its very important not to start defrosting the evaporator coil till you finish ohming out the defrost thermostat part for continuity.
