Whirlpool Refrigerator Compressor Start Device Relay
ByWhirlpool Side by Side Refrigerator(model#ED5FHAXSS00) Not cooling. Ohm tested the compressor start device relay, found no continuity. Installed new one, worked great! A Volt/Ohm meter is A MUST when testing appliance parts. The compressor start device relay is mounted on the side of the compressor in the back of the refrigerator.
Always UNPLUG the refrigerator before testing!

Thanks for the handy tip. I have a fridge that we got when we moved into our home that the last owners just put in but it didn’t work. Thankfully, we had our own. I just might start checking into the guts to see if I can fix it myself. I am pretty handy when it comes to the electrical and hvac side of things with the house and have done a little work on the washing machine (another limit switch). Thanks again!
