Sears Kenmore 596 Model Defrost Thermostat

Sears Kenmore Side by Side Refrigerator made by Amana (model#596.9550850): Not cooling well in both the refrigerator and freezer sections, and some stuff in the bottom of the refrigerator section was freezing.
The defrost thermostat(bi-metal) runs the evaporator fan motor, also called the freezer fan, and controls the defrost heater. If the evaporator is frosted up, then the first place to look would be this part. You can Ohm it for continuity while the evaporator coil is still frosted up, always unplug the refrigerator before Ohming it out.

Outer Tub Assembly

Sears Kenmore made by Frigidaire(model#41743042200): Very loud banging sound when its spinning, and leaking water from the middle of the drum from where the 2 sides bolt together.
The problem is the Rear outer tub bearing and shaft seal is worn out. Also on some of these the spin basket spiders can break.

This is a major repair, its a complete teardown of the washer installing the new parts, it can be a 2-4 hour job.

Range Bake Element

Sears Kenmore Electric Range made by Whirlpool (model#665.95002101): Oven is not heating when the bake cycle is on, I always make sure the range is receiving 240 volts at the range terminal block, a volt/ohm meter is a necessity. If that checks ok, then I check the the bake element for continuity with the ohm meter, make sure the power to the range is off first before testing the bake element for continuity.
There was no continuity in the bake element, when i checked it.

Refrigerator Door Gasket

2004 Sears Kenmore Top Mount(Freezer on Top) Refrigerator made by Frigidaire(model#25363712302): The Refrigerator door gasket is not sealing properly, found a torn spot in it. These gaskets seem to hold up pretty good, but every once in awhile you may see a loose, torn, or crimped door gasket.
They used to have screws that held them in place, but now most are the push-in type, which is a great time saver!
