Amana Dryer Heating Element
1994 Amana Dryer(Model#LE7153LM): Not Heating at all. I ohm checked the element for continuity, found no continuity. Installed new heating element, worked great!

Whirlpool Dryer Motor Noise
Whirlpool Dryer(LER8857EQ0): Motor making a grinding noise and would run about 10 minutes and turn off, then you try to turn is back on and it just grinds and doesn't start. The motor bearing is bad.

Roper Dryer Thermal Fuse

Amana Dryer Blower Wheel
Amana dryer(model#ALE331RAW/PALE331RAW): The motor would just hum and not turn on. I found some clogged lint and a torn wash cloth stuck in the blower wheel & housing assembly. The blower wheel wasn't damaged, but I have seen some that have been damaged like this.

Sears Kenmore Thermal Cut-Off
Sears Kenmore Dryer(Model#110.66902691): The drum is turning but there is no heat at all. I took an ohm reading on the thermal cut-off thermostat with a Volt/Ohm Meter
and found no continuity. Its located on the heater housing.

Frigidaire Dryer Motor
Frigidaire Dryer(Model#GLER642AS3): When you press the start button, you can hear the motor humming, but it doesn't turn the drum, but if you turn the drum with your hand while the motor is humming, it will start turning and continue to run. This always indicates a bad motor.

Sears Kenmore Even Heat Control Board
1997 Sears Kenmore Dryer(Model#110.68932790): When you push the start button it starts and runs, when you release the start button the dryer stops and will not continue to run. There is a service sheet inside the top control console, it gives you step by step troubleshooting instructions. On this dryer, the even heat control board was bad.

Maytag Dryer Heating Element
Maytag dryer(Model#LDE312 series 02): Not heating properly. I found the element had broken and it was touching the heater housing, which is a grounded element. This caused the heater to be on all of the time, and not letting the timer advance in the auto dry cycles. This problem also made it so just 120 volts was passing through the element causing the low heat condition.
I installed a new heating element, worked great.

Sears Kenmore Dryer Lint Duct
1997 Sears Kenmore Dryer(Model#110.66822690): Unplugged dryer, then took the back access panel off, then removed the 4 screws that holds on the bottom section of the lint duct, then took off the 2 screws that hold it on from the top, cleaned it all out, re-installed, worked great.
Jeff, from Applianceaid.com, has a good "how to" section on this procedure here.
The lint screen was worn out and broken, here is a new one that can be ordered:

Whirlpool Dryer Terminal Block
Whirlpool Dryer (Model# worn off): I found one of the 120 volt power cord wires burned onto the terminal block, in the back of the dryer, where the power cord connects up to the dryer. I replaced the Terminal Block and the Power Cord.

Blower Wheel Stripped
Sears Kenmore Dryer (Model#11070992990): It was making a very load rumbling sound when the drum was turning, and also the clothes were not coming out dry. Found the Blower Wheel stripped.

Dryer Blower Wheel
Maytag Dryer (Model#LDE9314ACE): Making a loud banging noise when you turn it on and it runs, then when you turn it off the loud banging sound continues a few seconds after the motor is off. This is a bad blower wheel.

On Sale this Week
The number one cause of all dryer problems is poor ventilation. Clothes taking 90 mins. to 2 hours are longer to dry, is a sure sign of poor air flow through the dryer and out the exhaust vent.
Many homes built today have very long exhaust vent runs to get to the outside to vent, those need to be cleaned at least twice a year.
You can pull the dryer away from the wall to make sure the dryer vent inside the unit is not clogged as well. The air should be blowing out very fast.

Kenmore Dryer Timer
Sears Kenmore Dryer made by Whirlpool(110.68202794): Timer problems are not that common on most brands with mechanical timers, but can break or wear out like most other parts. Either the timer stops turning in the timed cycle, or does not turn the dryer off at all.

GE Dryer Heating Elements
Most dryer heating elements last many years , some seem to only last 3 years or less. Why is this? Its Mainly due to poor air circulation through the dryer and out the customers exhaust vent.
If you notice clothes taking over 1 hour to dry, then this may be the main problem to short heating element life.
A simple test: Pull the dryer away from the wall, disconnect the exhaust hose, let the exhaust air just blow into the room for 1 load.
If you notice the dryer drying the clothes faster, then you have solved the problem. The problem is in your vent exhaust hose, either clogged or something is restricting the air flow where the end of the exhaust hose comes out.

Montgomery Ward Dryer made by Admiral
Hi all,
My Dryer is a 1988 Montgomery Ward(Admiral built)Model#LNC7435A80: Bad noise when i turn on dryer and when dryer shuts down, The blower wheel has gone out, this is the 2nd time in 16 years,Really not to bad, not a major part, its about $15.00. part#53-0106.
The only other parts to go out in 16 years is the belt and lint filter, very inexpensive parts.
I can tell the motor bearing is starting to make more noise now as well, very expensive part. So this week while im on my 1 week vacation, I decided 16 years for a Dryer is Wonderful, Im going to just buy another new Admiral Dryer, they have not gone up in price in 16 years. They have them here in Eugene/Springfield, Oregon for $259.00

Dryer Talk
Dryer Talk:
Lint build up causes lots of problems with Dryers. Will Cause poor drying, taking a very long time to dry clothes.
Check your vent exhaust hose and clean it out , as well at the outside Dryer vent. This will save you many heartaches, and costly repairs. :)
Also vacuum or brush out where the dryer filter goes in.
