Burners shutting off and other strange behavior
I just got a second hand range from a friend who was redecorating, with the range supposedly in good working condition. It is an Amana First Edition, ART6001W. (Electric glass top free-standing range) It has several apparent issues which I suspect might be related.
1- When I turn on a burner, it comes on and starts to glow, and then shuts off after a few seconds. If I turn it on a littlle higher, it comes back on for a few seconds and then shuts off. If I go a little higher, same thing. All four burners behave this way. They just won't stay on.
2- We tried to bake a couple things and it took way longer than it should have. I suspet it isn't getting hot enough, but I don't have a thermometer to verify.
3- The clock display is very dim.
Does anyone have any insights as to what might be going on here?
Thanks in advance!
