Hi--
I have an Amana oven, model #AER5715QAQ. The baking element went out recently, and fool that I am, I temporarily tried to swap in an element from another oven while the "real" one was in transit. Anyway, as soon as I plugged the oven back in (with the wrong element in place), it popped and shorted out. The terminal ends connecting to the element were fried, so I stripped and replaced the terminals, and waited until the appropriate package came in the mail, cursing my stupidity. The new element arrived, and now I find that neither the baking nor broil elements are receiving any power (heating up). The stovetop works fine, and there are no error messages displayed. What's the most likely culprit? I have this thing apart, but I don't really know what I'm looking for. Thanks in advance for any help. |

Thanks, KevinA. It was indeed a short in the clock assembly. Since this oven is getting older anyway, I've decided it's time to bite the bullet and get a new one. The wife knows best, after all. ![]() Thanks for the feedback. |
