Whats the serial# of your washer? then I can verify which seal/bearing kit you need for your model.

If it starts with 14 or higher, then you need this kit here:
Manufacturer's Number: 21002237

Default Anything else I should consider...

while I have it torn apart? Does my troubleshooting make sense?

Do the instructions detail the disassembly required to get at the parts?

I'll place the order today.

Thanks

Default disassembly

I purchased the seal/bearing kit above. I am trying to get the washer disassembled so I'm ready to install the new parts when they get here in a couple days.

I have the agitator out, but I'm not sure how to proceed. There is no frisbee like lint filter, only eight small perforated discs.

What comes off next, and how?

Default Great info

Jake,
Thanks for the tech bulletin.

I tore it down, although not exactly as described. I removed the outer tub and left the milk stool and transmission in place.

The seal nut came off pretty easily with channel-locks, albeit chewed-up. The hub came off with with a few sharps taps with a blunt punch and 2lb hammer.

I was amazed at how grimy everything was! I assume some kind of grease cutter like Simple Green and hot water will clean this up? Any other suggestions?

I'll build the bearing puller. Any suggestions on alternatives to the 3M800 sealant and the seal grease (056016)?

I'll post my results after I get the parts and put it all back together.
