Default [FIXED] amana gas dryer won't stay lit

hi Jake-
Once again I need your help. I have an Amana Gas dryer, Model # ALG443RAW, and the igniter glows hot when you turn on the dryer. It takes maybe 5 to 10 seconds to light the flame. That seems longer then before. Then at some point, maybe 5 minutes, the flames turns off. I have blown out the vent with a blower. Is it something simple? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks Rick

Possibly your flame sensor or gas coils are bad.

Unplug your dryer first before testing!

For a digital ohm meter:
First touch the ohm meter probes together it should read 0 ohms, thats continuity. Look for the ohm meter to say 0 ohms on the flame sensor terminals(take the wires off the flame sensor first), if it does, then its good, thats continuity.

Here's the flame sensor, it mounts on the side of your gas burner tube:
Manufacturer part#338906 is RepairClinic item#2681
338906

Here's the gas coil kit for your model:
Part#694540
Gas valve solenoid coil kit, 2 and 3 wire, new style
(The manufacturer has replaced part number 694540 with this item, part number 279834.)

279834

Report back what you find.

Jake-
The flame sensor terminals had continuity. So I guess that means it's good? Is there a way to test the gas coils or should I just replace them?

No way to test the gas coils, other then ohming them out for continuity, even at that they can ohm out good, but the solenoid could still be sticking inside.

Yes, I'd say new gas coils should fix it.
