Opening my Amana Electric Dryer
My Amana (approx 10 years old) has started making a very load noise that i'm hoping is the belt or a bearing. i went to remove the back to see if i could fix it, and it does not have a normal dryer back. the back is connected to both sides and wraps around the entire unit. i've removed all the screws, thinking it would become apparent to me how to remove it once all the side and back screws were undone, but it is not apparent at all. Can anyone tell me how to access the inside of this unit?
Thanks, Stacey

Hi,
If you could post the model# that would help us.
All of the Amana dryers come apart from the front, most have a lower access panel with 2 5/16" screws at the very bottom of that panel.
Then you will see the air duct assembly, 2 screws come off from there as well, then you will see 2 more screws in front that hold that upper panel on.
But without the model# I can't really say yours is like this, but chances are it is.

Model #TEA600L
Thanks for the response! I got frustrated and gave up for a week, but now i'm back trying to fix it.
I'll give it a try from the front tonight. (Unfortunately, i already unscrewed all the back screws, thinking once i'd done that the solution would be apparent. sigh.)
