Default Brand new Amana dryer stopped heating, is this common?

    Model Number: ngd4500vq2
    Brand: Amana
    Age: Less than 1 year

We got a new Amana gas dryer less than two months ago. Today it stopped heating. I took the lint trap out and the vent duct off and ran it with no clothes in it. The heat comes on for about 10 seconds then cuts off.

Is this common for a brand new dryer? Is there something simple that could have happened, like somehow taking the lint trap out and putting it back in knocked something loose?

I can't believe the electronics would fail so soon after we bought it. I'm not sure I want to continue troubleshooting it by opening it up, in case there is (ha ha) a warranty on it, but I wondered if I could just be missing something stupid.

    Hi,

Don't void your warranty, call local warranty depot and have them check it out for you!
