I have an Amana Top loading Washer Model # ALW480DAW That has a very touchy door switch. It shuts off by itself during operation, and leaning on it slightly or tapping the top, will make it continue. The mercury? switch for the door is not adjusted properly, and I would like to disable it, but don't know how to get at it! Apparently the top will raise up...but it doesn't! I don't want to pry at it with a large scewdriver, but would like to know how to open the top. Does this have a locking tab or something holding it down?
