A wierd issue with my Amana SxS
Hello All:
Here's my problem. My unit is not cooling, although water dispensing, ice despensing and lights work. I can feel air exiting the lower rear vent behind the fridge. I cannot feel any air circulating inside. I unplugged the unit for about 2 hours and noticed quite a bit of ice melt. (yes, the whole thing was empied out including the ice container) The circulating fan not working is a problem for sure, but I wonder about the freezing. Coils freezing? Freon issue? Something else? Any one with suggestions would really help me out.
Oh, when I pulled the unit out to get a look I was shocked at the amount of dust! I went underneath and all around with the vacuum. It seemed like an unusual amount of dust build up. This fridge is about 8 yrs old.
Thanks
Loui

It sounds like you may have a bad defrost thermostat, it also controls the freezer fan motor on your model.
Do a search in this forum for the words: defrost thermostat
