LG Refridgerator issue
I bought LG Refridgerator LFX31925ST, around Thanksgiving, this year 2012. Within one month, I get an error message on the front panel of the fridge (ER IF). When I called the customer service, they told me that this problem relates to the icemaker fan. If I don't use the ice maker often, it can cause this issue.
What kind of answer is this? Just because I have an ice maker, am I supposed to use it all the time? I don't necessarily need it in the winter.
The customer service agent told me to switch off the refridgerator for 4 hours and restart it. This is not a very feasible solution. If I have a fridge, I want to use it all the time. I cannot keep it off for 4 hours.
This makes absolutely no sense.
I have had an old refridgerator (Kitchenaid) with Ice maker for over 10 years, and never had this problem.
Life's good? Life sucks.

Thats why I advise people to stay away from LG and Samsung appliances, stick with the big boys, Whirlpool, Frigidaire, KitchenAid, GE, Maytag.
LG and Samsung make great TV's and monitors, but not appliances, and their customer service is really bad as you can see.
Just demand that a tech. comes out under warranty to fix it. They have to honor their warranty by law or you have a legitimate claim to file against them at your State Attorney Generals Office. So in your state its here: Protecting Consumers | State of California - Department of Justice - Kamala D. Harris Attorney General

You have a defective icemaker fan or the fan motor was not connected properly from the factory. You need to call LG to schedule a repair call to resolve this issue.
