"... when I start it the unit starts to heat up"
Does it fill then start to heat the water? Does your model have a sani-wash or sani-cycle?

And no the washer does not fill up. I turn the knob to the setting i want and the washer turns on, hums and starts to click as if going thru the cycle and after the second or third click it stop just about when it should start to fill up

does the wash motor or drain pump run if you advance the timer slowly by hand?

that link is a trouble shooting guide for the machine, it is also inside the door behind the front panel

Hi Irisheyegirl,
It sounds like either the timer or water valve is bad. Advance the timer by hand and see what it does.

Good Morning Rick;
I tried advancing the dial by hand and nothing more happens. Once I get the dial to a setting so to speak it sounds like its going to start up hums for a few then quits.

Is it the motor you hear humming? You might have to remove the lower panel and see if you can tell where the hum is comming from.
