I have a problem with my GE front loading washer model WSXH208V1WW. The door lock will not lock, I have replaced the following, reed switch, pilot light, motor control, door latch, and still the door will not lock, I checked the voltage to the door lock , and there was none. P>S> also replaced the timer. I called the GE answer center and they were no help. Anyone have a suggestion.

First question....why do you think the door isn't locking? Can you open it mid cycle?
First piece of advice...throwing parts at it won't solve anything. Tell us what you see/hear, tell us what happens. We've seen plenty of these Friggidaire built machines, we can help.

In reply to your question, yes I can open the door,in the cycle. The motor runs water comes in but the door will not lock. I started the washer and checked voltage to the door latch solinoid, and there was none. I also understand the reed switch is part of the door latch, just wondering what its function is. Also the pilot light will not come on. Any further suggestions Floyd

Reed switch is activated by a magnet in the dispenser drawer - part 8 on this drawing:

Friggidaire part number 131373800, around $8-10. You can test this with a small magnet like the telescopic "pick up" ones. Just put it where it operates the reed switch.

I checked the dispenser drawer for the magnet, NO MAGNET? per your suggestion I will order today. I take it that if there is no magnet there will not be power to the door latch, as this is part of the switch as I understand. I'll let you know, thanks for the help Floyd
