Greetings internet angels!
I recently bought a new home, and it has a relatively new HVAC system installed. It also has an Electronic Air Cleaner that appears to be much older than the system. It is a Lennox EAC10-20-1.
I have about 20 questions.
Is there a user manual available for it? If not, how does it work? It has what appears to be a disposable filter in it, a screen. Lying loose in the closet are two metal contraptions that look like they're about the same size as the disposable filter. I am thinking they are washable filters, and that the previous home owner changed filter media.
Does this act as the filter system for the AC too? I have been in the home for about a month, and figured I better go find the filter. I didn't find one, except for that.
If it *is* the filter, does it need to be "on" when the AC is on?
Or perhaps - the disposable media is to replace the metal filter because the air cleaner doesn't work any longer, and the system obviously needs a filter?
