ge wsher not spinning but makeing a buzzing sound

i have a ge washer # wbxr2060v1ww and when in the spin cycle it doesnt spin but makes a humming sound, i took the front panel off and noticed that the motor was barely moving and that there was a dark sticky mess in the bottom of the machine, now what do you think when wrong and how do i fix it? the belt wasnt off ...so? thanx

Sounds like the transmission is leaking oil, I see this happen alot on these GE's.

It would need a new tranny.
