I tried researching the blog list, but couldn't find anyone with this particular problem. My wife was cooking hamburger last night and the pan started popping and spitting hot metal. We turned the oven off at the circuit breaker and after everything cooled, the pan had a hole in it. The surface element also had a hole in it. Has this ever happened to someone? It's like the surface element shorted or something. I put in a new element tonight, but it looks like the selector switch also shorted out. I can go get one of these, but does anyone know why this happened? I assume it's safe to still use once the new part is in. Do I need to worry about this happening again? Any help or suggestions? THX
