I have a GE washer - Model WBSE2090A2WW. It fills, spins, drain, but do not agitate. My friends advised me that take out the agitator as child socks (small cloth) may have gone inside. How to take out this agitator. I have seen a photo in one of the response to put some sort of belt and wood and pull. Can somebody explain this in more detail what I have to remove before doing this. GE says you need a special type of tool and only GE technician can do it. Please explain the process a in a detail as I am really novice in this

Yes,
Just get a belt, I always take off my pants belt and put it under the agitator in the middle and just pull up hard, like a big tug up. Make sure your head is not in the way as it pops up.:)

I tried to take out the agitator as you have mentioned Jake. It did not come out. Do I need to unscrew anything before doing this? Also, the agitator is made of plastic, it seems too much force will break it. Any other method to do this.

Jeff has a link and a photo of how to get it off as well, you gotta really jerk it up very hard and fast:
