View Full Version : GE- Won't Agitate

I know there are a few other threads out there about GE's that won't agitate, but none of them sound exactly like what we are experiencing. A few weeks ago, I noticed that the washer would click (like the motor was going off and on) when it was starting to agitate. It would click a few times then start agitating. Then, last night it stopped agitating. Now, it just clicks, and clicks, and clicks like it is trying to start. It did this for a few minutes and then just sat there. I switched it to drain and spin (which it did), then restarted it....and it did the same thing. It will fill, drain and spin, but won't agitate... It just clicks. So, what's wrong?
The service warranty expired last April. :(
It's a GE Washer model # WBSE2090AOWW.

Hi,

I would first check the wire connector to the motor, and look for burned spots in it. Here's a slide show to show you how to access the motor:

If the motor connector looks fine and the contacts on the motor are ok as well, then its likely your motor went out.
