I installed a new Frigidaire PLD2850 yesterday and after running it noticed the steam that comes out the vent is so moist that its creating a lot of condensation on the bottom edge of my counter top and then dripping onto the top of the dishwasher door. Creates a big mess.

What gives?

I've pulled it out from under the counter so far that any further and it will be sticking out. How far under the counter should this thing be mounted?

Other than the big mess, is this going to short out the electronics shortly?

Hi,

I have seen this alot in hot humid places i used to live in South Texas.

You will have to make sure the dishwasher control panel is not directly under the counter at all.

Thanks Jake.

I'm in Detroit and had the air on. It was probably about 70 degrees in the kitchen. I pulled it out a bit and that seemed to take care of most of the problem in the vent area, but I'm still getting that condensation build up above the door handle latch. I can't really pull it out any farther without it being in the middle of the room. I called the store that I purchased it from on Sunday, and they gave me a number for the manufacturers contracted service company. They'll be out in a week. It was also missing the center spray arm when I received it. Wondering now if I should just try and return the whole unit. I shouldn't have to screw around with a brand new purchase like this. Service company said they would order parts and come out when they had them in. Here we go...

Tell the servicer to order a shim kit for the door latch.

This was covered in a Technical Service Bulletin--The shims will tighten the door seal at the upper corners.

Thanks John. Will do. You think this will take care of the condensation happening at the top center of the door?

Yes.

I've installed quite a few of these.
