i have top load ge washer model# WNSR3100W0WW and when you turn the dial to a cycle like 10mins it will fill to the desired level then start agitating, but the water still just keeps coming in while its agitating, it will overfill. When you push the timer in it stops. I changed the inlet valve and still does the same thing, what could the problem be? thanx

Hi,
When you push the timer in it stops
?it? The water, the washer, both?
I changed the inlet valve and still does the same thing, what could the problem be?
Bad water level control/pressure switch would be a prime suspect.

when i push the timer back in the water stops, i know that sometimes that if the valve is bad that the water will always come in without the unit even on, but strange is that the washer will start to agitate at a certain level which leads me to think that the water level switch is ok, but then after agitating the water will still come in till it over flows

Only if it acually shuts off the power to the fill valve....can do both at the same time if mechanically broken or electrically welded closed.
but then after agitating the water will still come in till it over flows
If still *filling* - check the WLC...if just *leaking* after the agitation has started, see if the washer is spinnign while agitating.

Double check the wire positions.
Shouldn't change parts without checking them first....a good ohm/volt meter is under $20.00
