i have ge washer model# WPSE4270A0WW and when goes to the spin cycle will pump out water but not spin, i took the front panel off to see what was going on with the motor and belt while spinning and found that nothing was moving, and that i saw some smoke + burning smell coming from the side of the motor, i manualy turned the motor with my hand while power off and it turned and spun the basket to maybe see if the transmission was locked, but it wasnt, what do you think is the problem/fix? thanx

Hi sun,

You will need a new motor assembly for it.

You can order it here:
2 Speed motor & clutch kit (http://www.repairclinic.com/referral.asp?R=1265&N=963750)

Thats a good question.

The way I apply tension to the belt when putting a new motor/clutch assembly on is, With the belt on the transmission pulley and motor pulley, Just pull the motor towards you so the belt is tight, then tighten the motor mounting bolts underneath as you continue to keep the tightness on the belt. Thats it.:)
