Maytag CRE9600 Cooktop

We just broke the cooktop of our Maytag CRE9600BCW range. Bottle fell out of the cupboard above, bounced off the cooktop and on to the floor. Bottle didn't break but cooktop did on one side.

How easy is it to replace cooktop of this model? We are planning a major kitchen renovation in a year or two and really don't want to replace the range at this point since the new one will be a larger commercial-style range.

Also, is it ok to use the other side of the cooktop? The break is on one side only.

Hi,

Here is the main glasstop assembly:

Its to hard to change, but its abit time consuming, and patience is needed to do this, as you need to remove the burner assemblies as well.
