I have an Amana slide-in range ,2 yrs. old model # ACS7270AS and when I opened the oven door this morning I found a round quarter size metal screen sitting on the bottom of the oven floor. I looked up at the ceiling of the oven and saw where it belongs and tried to push it back up but after awhile it fell down again...it is not broken at all .I'm not quite sure why it fell out...does anyone know how to put this screen back in and do I need it in if I can't get it back in?? Also my oven has been showing f-1 since it fell out but after awhile the f-1 goes away. But my control pad always goes nuts right before a holiday :( I've had 5 control pads replaced in less than 2 years:eek: . Thank you for any advice you can give.... Nancy

Hi,
Thats just a screen, it shouldn't affect anything if you leave it out. I looked a new one up for you, but was unable to locate a new one.
For the F1, thats means you will need to replace that control board.
Have they replaced 5 control boards (http://www.repairclinic.com/referral.asp?R=1265&N=1035766) or control pads (http://www.repairclinic.com/referral.asp?R=1265&N=969934)?
Whats the serial# of your range?

Thank you Jake for your fast reply!!! The serial # is 11421049EP...it may have been boards and control pads that where replaced Jake ...I can't remember and I can make sense of all the repair tickets I have in the folder. I have used the range 3 times since yesterday and it didn't have the f -1 code ... I hope it doesn't die till after Thanksgiving;) !!! Also I pushed that screen gasket thingy back up and it's still holding. TY again...Nancy

I also keep getting the F1 error on my Amana Model ACS7270AS.
I purchase the range 6/2004, the membrene (#32061701B (http://www.repairclinic.com/referral.asp?R=1265&N=969934)) was replaced by a certified Amana repair man in 6/2005, and again on 7/2006. It's been acting up AGAIN for the past month with the timer going off for no reason, even after turning it off. Now last night we woke to the constant F1 error again. Please help me fix this permanently!
Has Amana moved from the appliance sales business to the parts business?
Thank you!

No, they haven't replaced the main control board, just the membrane. Serial # 11703331CT
Thank you!

The main control board may be causing the membrane keypad to short out yearly, so I would advice that the main control board be changed too.
Here is a new one for your model, just click the photo for more information:
