Hello,

For the past week my oven shuts off after heating for a few
minutes. This morning we got an error code: f1-7 and beeping.
At this point, the oven will not heat and we only get the flashing
error code with a message to call for service.

My model number is: JDS8850AAB
My serial number is : 11020058AN

I am very concerned that I won't have much of a Thanksgiving
meal without the use of my oven. Is it the touchpad? If so,
could this item be ordered and repaired within a couple of days?
Would it help to order the part myself?

Since today is Sunday, I've just left messages at the reccomended
service centers. :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(

Your assistance will be much appreciated. Thank you.

Hi,

That error indicates your control panel is bad, the real bad news is every part supplier that I have checked is out of stock on it:
Control panel asy. (http://www.repairclinic.com/referral.asp?R=1265&N=1009046)

Unfortunately, the only option to have a Happy Thanksgiving at this point is to buy a new range.

Thank you for your reply, Jake. I have resigned myself to the fact that
I will not have use of my range. With that in mind, I have pulled out every appliance I have aquired over 17 years of marriage, which includes
a ronco rotisserie, nesco roaster, crockpot, and a host of pots and pans.
I'll make it a great Thanksgiving meal for my family with a bit of inovation.

Do you think the touch pad control panel is something to avoid when
purchasing a range? They seem to be problematic. And finally, do you
think I could possibly get the part I need by Christmas?

Yes, I let my customers know, the most reliable appliances are the ones without touch-pads, the old fashioned knobs are still king!

Yes, if you order it now, hopefully you will get it before Christmas.
