GE #WJSR2080T5WW works as normal except it is not agitating. It even spins well. The motor runs fine and belt doesn't seem to be slipping. I removed the agitator and there were no obstructions. During the wash cycle I can push the agitator to the rear of the machine (or pull on it) and get some resistance as it tries to agitate but doesn't.<O:p</O:p

Is this the transmission even though it spins fine?
Suggestions?

Yes, it sounds like your transmission is bad, if your washer is less than 5 yrs. old you still have a part warranty on your transmission.

The agitator sits on a plastic coupling that sits on a drive with splines (grooves) on it. The coupling is plastic. The plastic splines inside the coupling had worn. That’s why when I pushed or pulled on the agitator, it would start to move (forcing the metal splines of the drive into the worn

The $4.95 shipping was more than the part. <O:p
