Ipurchased a Whirlpool dishwasher GU2500XTP which was just installed earlier this evening. According to my husband, the installer had tested it and had it running. After my husband loaded the dishwasher, he pushedthe "Normal" button thenthe "Start/Resume"button. The "Normal"light is on however the "Soak & Scour" light is blinking, and the dishwasher will not start. After checking the manual, I've tried pressing other "Option" buttons, the "Start/Resume", and the Cancel/Drain" buttons. It still won't turn on. I checked the troubleshooting section. The only information listed forflashing lights was for the "Clean" light and tocall Whirlpool service. Any info on this problem would be helpful. Thanks

Hi,

Try to turn off the breaker to it for 60 secs. Then see if starts ok.

If your still having trouble, call Whirlpool for a tech. to come out andfix it under the 1 yr. warranty.

We just tried that. Unfortunately the "Soak & Scour" light started blinking again about 10 seconds later after we turned the breaker back on. It looks like we get to call for a tech in the morning.... Is this normal for a brand new dishwasher to have problems from the get go???? Thanks.

No, it's not normal---but it is also not unheard of.

You have two possible options.

1) Most retailers(not all of them though)have a 30 day return policy on appliances that

they sell.

The dishwasher can be exchanged--no hassle.

2) You can request for a warranty servicer to examine the d/w and make corrections.

Good luck, John

It is not "normal" but s**t happens unfortunately. That's what warranties are for.

the "Soak & Scour" light is blinking
A single blinking light can be the result of a 'stuck' button in the control panel (if it isn't just indicating a process in progress). Maybe that particular one somehow got damaged during the installation or had a manufacturing defect which caused it to fail prematurely??

I agree with Jake, if it can not be repaired in a timely fashion, ask if it can be exchanged since it hasn't even been used yet.

Hi all,

We have had a Quiet Partner III (GU2500XTPS-3) for a little less than two years, We have a blinking light (soak/scour). Any idea on how to fix this?

Thanks.

Yes, as Dan O. pointed out the most common issue with this problem would be the control panel assembly.

Here is the one for your model in black:
