Hello again!
Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and prepping for the next!
GE Washer - thank goodness i was home - overflowed through lid - water wouldnt stop. Pulled the plug, tried to turn off the water faucets. Long story short (too late) cleaned the mess, pulled washer away from the wall. All hoses good shape and connected. But the fear of flash flooding is upon me. Maybe its about 8-11 years old - usually runs like a dream. Your expertise pleeeeeease?
Thanks so much!
(maybe not so handywoman) ahahhaha

Yes, thanks, it was a good Holiday!
Now when you pulled the plug on your washer did the water stop coming in? or only when you turned your facets off did the water stop coming in?

I pulled the knob for the washer to stop. Water kept pouring out. When I pulled the plug from the wall - it finally stopped coming in. My faucet knobs were stuck and i couldnt turn the water off at the wall. would there be a clogged line from the washer drum to the drain hose? the drain hose had a tad bit of water but that's all. anything duct tape will fix? ahaha just kidding. Thanks a bunch!

i pulled the washer knob to stop the washer. didnt happen - water kept filling. i pulled the plug from the wall and it stopped. my wall knobs were stuck and couldnt turn the water off at the wall. i just remembered that the load prior to that was not "spinned out". the towels were full of water. but the drum was empty. hope this helps. i really look forward to the laundromat this weekend - not. appreciate your help!

Thats very odd, if you pulled the knob to stop the machine, water kept coming, you pulled the plug and it stopped?
So if you turn your water faucets on now will water start coming in even though your machine is off and unplugged?

i just checked. nothing today. last night it did a bit but could that be from the pressure in the lines? im rolling up my sleeves ready to tackle the thing again. i really hate laundromats.

If your machine is turned off or you unplug your machine, if that water don't stop coming in, your water inlet valve has gone bad, and will need to be replaced.:)
Here is a new water inlet valve you can order for your model:
