Purchased in October 2002. No problems until recently.
In the past 4-5 weeks there have been instances where the washer will initially fill and then not go into the wash cycle. I can smell electrical heat-up when this happens. I assume that an overload protector has tripped. After cooldown, I bucket about half the water out of the tub and rotate the drum and aggitator back and forth and it will proceed into wash cycle when I close the lid like nothing happened.
3 or 4 days later it may repeat this same overload process.
Any suggestion as to the cause.
