I have performed many repairs and have a "manual operating" Bosch - which I will never do again. I have thanks to this great website and the great people giving advice:

Fixed the controller burnt out resistor problem causing never ending cycles'

Fixed another erroded circuitboard connection causing same

checked the capacitor - ok

Fixed the fill/float part which freezed operation

checked the in-line heater - 11 ohms - ok

monitored the power to heater during the cycle - ok

fixed the soap dispenser

(why did I buy a Bosch again?)

extended the electical and hose so that I could take it in and out weekly!

.... you get the point.

So now the thing seem to go through all the cycles fine but can't seem to get past the final cycle.

This is a great tip - I put a electronic oven/meat temperature probe into the washer so I could monitor the temps. The inline heater is definately working and brings the water up as specifed several times to 161C but in the final cycle I think it is failing to bring it up to the final temperature to kick off the programed termination temp - i.e. the drying mode temp.

I checked the controler circuit board and all seems okay.

I am close to trashing this piece of expensive mother &^^$#%^ thing.

As a last attemp I am posting this to see if there can be anything else?

thermostat seems to be fine as it is telling the heater to turn off at 160C.

Thanks

close to giving up
