I have a GE washer, model #WBSE3120B1WW, which is about 4-5 years old. It will not agitate, but fills, drains, spins fine regardless of the cycle. I took the front cover off and the motor and belt seem fine. I figure next I need to pull the agitator and check the "coupling". I suppose I need to remove the top cover to do this but am not sure how.
Any suggestions appreciated.

Here is a console diagram, just take off the 4 top console screws#11:

Do you hear any hum sound at all when it trys to agitate?
Try also to tap on your water level pressure switch (http://www.repairclinic.com/referral.asp?R=1265&N=899964) #10 with a screwdriver, I have seen a couple of these go bad and cause it not to agaitate.
Check your motor connector (http://www.applianceaid.com/images/gensmotorwires.JPG) where your wire harness connects to it. Check for burned pins, etc.
If it looks good, check for voltage at your connector pins with the power on and in that cycle.
Possibly you have a bad motor.
Here is the new upgraded motor kit:

I took off the agitiator, which came off quite easily, and discovered that the splines in the air bell coupler were stripped. Got one at the local parts house for $6. Person there said this is a common problem especially if you overload the washer as he had already sold 6 today by noon!
Thanks!

I assumed the motor wasn't running at all in the agitate cycle, so since it was, this makes sense.:)
Glad you got it fixed.:)
Here is the drive bell in case others need to order it:
