Got a GE washer that the timer knob broke off some time ago. Rather than pulling the knob in and out to advance to wash, it was simply left in the on position and the dial was turned to whichever wash cycle needed. Today, after two loads, the washer would simply not start again when rotating the dial to the correct wash cycle. It still clicks ok so not an issue with the teeth but was wondering if by turning the dial while in the on position it simply messed up the timer?

Hi,
Yes, thats likely, but make sure your power outlet that your washer is plugged into is good, by plugging a lamp, or hair dryer in it to test it. If it tests good, you will need a new timer and knob.
