Here's some tech info on my washer:
1. Hotpoint Top Loader, Mod No WLW3400SBLWH
2. Replacement motor relay's Part # is WH12X0235 (http://www.repairclinic.com/referral.asp?R=1265&N=2561)

My old relay burned out. I removed it and went to a local funitue store and bought a new relay. Here's my probelm, I failed to note where the four colored wires went on the replay that I removed. The four colored wires are as follows:

1. A light blue wire and pink wire come from controll panel.
These wires drop down from the controll panel.
2. A red wire and blur wire come up from motor.

I need to know which wire goes where. Two prongs on top of the relay and two prongs on the bottom.

Any help would be appreciatred. TIA

There should be a wiring diagram inside of your console that would tell you.

Jake, the wiring diagram does not show the relay. Thanks anyway for helping out. :)

You will need to check the schematic and the motor.
Measure the winding resistance of both motor windings and the start relay.
The start winding resistance is higher, the run lower.
Draw a schematic of the relay. Two pins are the relay coil, two the start switch.
The schematic will show one contact supplying power to the motor from the timer probably the light blue wire. This goes to the relay coil, the other pin of the coil goes to the motor run winding. If this is correct, you will find the pink wire goes to the timer switch that is part of a four switch wiring that reverses the start winding voltage for start/run operation
The pink wire goes to the relay switch ,the other end goes to the motor start winding (red) wire.
Hope I am right here.
When you test everything make sure to have the washer upright to allow the relay to drop out the start winding once the motor gets up to speed, if not the motor start winding will burn up!!

Good luck; the directions are correct, but I have no washer here to confirm.
Please post the results, only compensation here is a job well done note!
