Hi guys

My dishwasher (Frigidaire PLD2850RDC2) occassionally shows a power failure code, even though the power has not been interrupted. I've often wondered if it could be happening when the door is opened forcefully, due to a poor electrical connection.

Today we lost power to the unit completely. I've checked the circuit breaker, and it's OK. Any ideas? Where could I check for power inside the dishwasher?

You can check power at where the electrical comes to your dishwasher, there is a junction box under your dishwasher, take off the lower access panel and you will see it in the front #20 here is the cover:

#8 & #9 is the lower access panel.

You will need a volt meter (http://www.repairclinic.com/referral.asp?R=1265&N=964740) to check for 120 volts there.

Yes, I have power to that junction box.

So where do I go from here? Straight to circuit boards?

Thanks for the help

Now check power to your door switches, should be 120 volts.

Turn power off to your machine, then ohm the door switches out for continuity as well.

Here is the door switch assembly for your model, in case you need to order it:

The door switch is not the problem. I suspected this because even with the door unlatched the display would work (show "PF" and/or "low rinse agent" indication). But, I've proven it out also.

Thanks again

Just to be clear, when it was working it used to display those indications even though the door was unlatched. It is still completely dead now.

Ok, then its likely your control board has gone bad, if your getting power to your control board, and your dishwasher still does nothing, then its your control board.

Here is a new one you can order for your model:

jcoon - was wondering if this board fixed your problem and if you're still running 'ok'?

I seem to be running into the same issue, or reasonably close at least...
