HI,
Smoked a belt and replaced it. Now it is very noisey when it runs. Motor spins fine. Purchased in 2002. I read it has 10yr warranty on transmission part only. Any ideas what could be wrong?

Hi,
Take the belt off, then run your motor (http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=YO6223WzStY&offerid=122738.559295803&type=10&subid=)/pump (http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=YO6223WzStY&offerid=122738.559295797&type=10&subid=) assembly alone and see if it still makes the noise.

Motor runs quiet with the belt off. Put the belt back and it seems to go thru all its cycles, but make a howling sound when it has to spin. I'm hoping the transmission is fine and that a bearing is bad. I looked at the upper bearing on the bottom of the tub and it looks a bit rusty. Maybe the seal was leaking.. Is that a tough bearing to replace?

Aww, that loud howling sound is completely normal when you don't have clothes in it while its spinning.
Does it howl when clothes are in it spinning?
