Frigidaire stuck on crushed ice

I have a black side by side Frigidaire with icemaker in the door. The icemaker is stuck on crushed ice. I saw another post http://www.applianceblog.com/forums/forum1/801.html about this happening which said to check the metal arm to make sure it moves freely (it does) and to make sure the plunger which sits to the right of the auger motor moves freely. That plunger does not move freely. How can I fix this?

Take it apart to see why it is sticking/stuck....iced over, cooked solenoid, cracked plastic link, etc.

If iced over, check for any air leaks ( gaskets, area's where wires/pipes enter the freezer ) and if ok...try a little food grade silicone on the plunger assembly.
