:) Wanted front load washer Kenmore, Fridgidare spin control pc baord and or a sceamatic to read the required values of each transistor, diode, resistors etc. on the baord. Thank you, Tim zfixitman@hotmail.com Ca Phone # 707 443-8347 :o

zfixitman,
I saw your post on the appliance blog. I had a problem with a GE logo-ed version of this same washer. I tried to do a component level diagnosis on the motor control board on my machine. The washer ships with a schematic of the whole washer on a piece of paper that is usually tucked inside a large envelope inside the machine, behind the front kick panel, on the left side wall of the machine. It is not a schematic of the control board, but it does give some details on how to check with an ohm-meter the state of the driver transistors on the control board as well as test the motor. These are usually one of the top things that fail on those machines. These transistors are the high power devices that control the current that operates the large motor that turns the belt that turns the drum. If these transistors are shot, the machine will fill with water and drain, but will not spin or agitate at all. The problem with replacement is that Electrolux has those transistors 'private labeled' and you cannot use the part numbers on them to cross reference to any replacement transistor. I called a large electornics supply house in Boston and they said the numbers on them were useless. It seems that Electrolux may have undersized the heat-sinks that those transistors are mounted on, and after several years of production (and I am sure lots of failures), they redesigned the contol board with beefier transistors and heat sinks to solve this problem. That said, even if you find the correct replacement transistors, they will probably fail again in a relatively short time as they are not right for the circuit demands.
Your best bet for a long term fix is to buy a new control board from Repair Clinic or others. It is much more reliable. I think I found one eventually for $130.
Your other option is to look for one on ebay, used. They come up several times a month for $30 - $40, but chances are that you will get an older one with the previous under-sized design. and be opening the machine to do the same repair in a year or 2.
