Frigidaire water filter problems

We have a 2 year old frigidaire with water and ice. The first pure filter lasted 6 months, now we have to replace it every 3-4 weeks because it only trickles and won't fill the ice trays. What could be wrong?

Check the water pressure going to the refrigerator, i would take of the water line connector, and test the pressure by running it into a container, if its a strong stream, then it could be the water valve.
