Washer only works on delicate

I have an Amana LWA50AW. It only works properly on the delicate cycle. On regular cycle it works sometimes then sometimes it will only go through the fill cycle and will not agitate and sometimes it will not works at all on regular cycle. But seems to always go through the delicate cycle. I assume it is the main switch/timer.?.? Any ideas? Thanks, Chris.

Yes, it sounds like it may be the timer thats bad.
