Hi everyone - thanks for ApplianceBlog, what a great resource!

I have a Frigidaire Electrolux dishwasher that has begun having soap dispenser door problems:
-sometimes its fine
-sometimes it doesn't open at all
-sometimes its open, but the soap is still sort of caked in and around the dispenser as if it opened during the drying cycle or late in the wash cycle

Its model number FDB2310LCC1 if that helps any.

When I move the latch by hand it seems fine - not too much resistance, not sticking.

Is this something I might be able to fix on my own? replace the door mechanism or motor? WD40? ;)

Thanks for any advice.

Its best to replace the dispenser assembly.

Here is the one for your model:

Thanks Jake for the quick advice and link to the part.

In the case where its open at the end, but the soap is not fully dispensed and the dishes are still dirty - What do you think the odds are of it being a water pressure problem?

Is there a good way to make that determination?

Don't want to replace the whole assembly and find out thats not the problem!

Thanks again!

I don't think it would be a water pressure issue, but to make sure you can take off your water supply line that connects to your dishwasher and check the fill valve (http://www.repairclinic.com/referral.asp?R=1265&N=1063883) screen, and the water pressure itself coming out.

If you order the part from that link I posted above and it doesn't solve the problem, you can return it within 30 days for a full refund.
