Default Bosch SHE68M Draining. Is This Normal Operation?

I just installed this dishwasher a couple of weeks ago. The DW is super quiet, cleans well and so far I am happy with the product. The question that I have is about draining.

The drain motor seems to start and stop multiple times during a drain cycle. I am used to the drain motor running nonstop until the DW is empty. Is this a normal function of the DW? It almost sounds like it drains for 2 seconds, goes back to washing for 2 seconds, drains for another 2, wash for another 2 and perhaps even add hot water (it is running now and I just listened again).

Again it is has done this since day 1 and I have had no washing quality issues with the DW. The DW is running on the Auto Wash mode, I have not run it on any other modes.

Is this all normal?

Your dishwasher is running just fine. These new machines will frequently perform multiple operations in the name of energy and water conservation. An older machine would find a high particulate concentration in the wash water and would stop, drain the water, then refill prior to continuing. The newer units, will only purge a small amount of water, and refill, all without starting another cycle. And they do it at the same time. Technology is cool.
