Default Loud drain pump

Short version:
Can someone please help me to access the drain pump of my Bosch?

Long version:
Like several other Bosch owners out there, mine (SHV46C13UC) is extremely loud when the drain pump is running (immediately when the wash is started and then periodically throughout the cycle). It is a loud gutteral rumble and, although the dishes come out clean, the thing is way louder than it should be.

The noise started after an incident that caused water to leak out onto the floor and the underside pan to be full of water, which caused the float switch to remain up and the drain pump constantly on. I had to suck all the water out of there to resolve this and never figured out what caused it to begin with - probably food clogging things up.

Anyway, I assume the drain pump is either damaged somehow or there's still something disrupting it and I'd like to have a look.

Thanks in advance!

Did some exploring today and thanks to the post here, I was able to get to and remove the drain pump - it appeared to be in tip-top shape so I put it back in.

I set the DW back up and started a cycle and the noise still occurred. While the drain pump was on, I reached in and applied some pressure to it and it ran silently.

My guess is that it lost its balance somehow so, when it spins (it's fast), it vibrates enough to make a loud noise.

I went ahead and ordered a new one hoping that this will solve the issue.

Yes, hopefully it will. I don't work on Bosch appliances, so I can't really assist you on this one.

If other Techs. or members that do work on these can possibly assist you if they happen to run access this thread.

Replaced the drain pump and running a test cycle. So far, things are much quieter ... hopefully it will stay that way.

As an aside, I was able to replace the drain pump without having to turn the washer upside down. Once you know what needs to be removed (and how to remove it) it was actually pretty simple.

Here's the quoted guide that I used from here:
"getting to the drain pump for extraction means taking off the front face panel and the 90 degree bent steel panel(unpainted) at the door hinge. It may also involve removing the left vertical side panel. (power disconnected)Then find the electrical terminals on the pump and with a pair of needlenose or hemostats, depress the keepers on the contacts and pull the slide terms off the spade contacts. The pump removes by depressing the white plastic keeper lock located at about 2:00 on the circumference of the pump housing where it inserts into the tank sump and turning the pump counter-clockwise 1/4 turn. Then with the dexterity of a small monkey, you can extract the pump from the tank/catchbasin prison. On the new pump, use silicone grease on the o-ring and reverse the procedure"

Good job alight, sounds like you got it.

Thanks for posting that added information for others.

I don't know, like I said I don't work Bosch, but on other brands I've never used any grease on the O-rings.
