    Default hot water connection

    Model Number: SMS50E22AU
    Brand: Bosch
    Age: Less than 1 year

    Hi
We have a bosch dishwasher model SMS50E22AU the connection instructions stipulate "cold water connection only " do you know why this would be and is it possible to get around it as we have solar hot water on an off peak back up it seems pointless to heat water in the dishwasher

    Thanks wal

You have very sensitive water valves and piping that will not do well with hot water. You have to follow the manufacturers recommendations or you will void the warranty and mess up your floor. You can always exchange it for something else.

    Good luck.

    FYI
This is a reply from Bosch they replied inside a couple of hours

    Wal

    Good afternoon,

    Thank you for your e-mail.

Bosch recommends that the Bosch Dishwasher is connected to a cold water tap for 2 reasons.

The first reason is because the hot water cannot exceed 60 deg going into the dishwasher. This can affect the heat relay switch, which alerts the dishwasher to know when to finish the program.

And 2 the way the dishwasher dries the dishes is via the residual heating, where at the end of the program the cold water will enter the cavity and break the temperature from all hot inside and cause the water to be drawn to the sides of the cavity and this causes the drying affect.

So if you do connect the inlet hose to a hot water tap and there is any issues that have been caused with the water connection then that will not be covered under warranty and also the drying of the dishes will be affected also.
    Kind regards,

    Customer Service Representative
