Default Bosch Dishwasher acts like it has a short

    Model Number: SHU43C06UC
    Brand: Bosch
    Age: 6-10 years

Our Bosch dishwasher started shutting off mid-cycle and sometimes we had to press on the door on the right side below the buttons to get it to start (in the middle of the door). Now even this does not get it to start. We already went through a similar problem with this dishwasher a few years ago, thankfully the manufacturer had a recall on the problem part and repaired it for free.

Can anyone tell me what needs to be repaired? Is it a difficult thing to replace?

Thanks in advance for any assistance provided!

Going by your description it sounds like it has something to do with the door switch. Check that first.

It doesn't seem to have anything to do with the door latch, it appears to be latching tightly. Underneath the control panel in the more flexible area of the door is where applying pressure makes the power turn on. It was the same way before when the manufacturer replaced a part due to a recall. Maybe I should call the manufacturer.

    Thanks,

Those latches never go bad. However, I was referring to the door switch. Part of the latch closes a door switch and that is where I believe the problem is. You can check it somewhat by slowly closing the latch and listen closely for the "click" of a microswitch closing.
