Default Spayer arms constantly clogging with food

I have a question about Bosch dishwashers.
We have a SHI4300 that is about 8 yrs old. We load our unit the recommended way, without pre rinsing at the faucet, only scraping. The loaded dishes are quite dirty with small food particles such as rice, small bits of vegetables etc (as recommended by Bosch). This unit does NOT have a chopper, only a filter whose only function as far as I can see is to keep all food residue inside the d/w & on the dishes at the end of the cycle. I have resorted to cleaning the filter & d/w bottom after the 1st cycle, the pre-rinse. However, very often somehing sticky get lodged in the outermost hole of 1 or more sprayer arms. If the object is not removed the cleaning cycle will be very poor; the outermost dishes being badly washed. This happens about once a week & it is EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to clean the arm. I poke at the obstruction through the hole with an ice pick or jewelers screwdriver but it just keeps slithering away. Does anyone have any ideas for cleaning clogged arms?

I hate this Mo*%@Fu^*ing d/w & would hurl it out of a 747 at 35,000 ft but my wife won't let me.
We have a 2nd house that has a Maytag d/w with a chopper & I have never seen food residue on the dishes or clogged sprayer arms. And It cost less than the bosch too. GOD bless American engineerig.
Thanks,

Ron
