Default Quit running mid cyle, replaced bad thermal fuse and still wont run

The fuse was definitely bad, overheated and black. Replaced it and still no go. the lights come on the console but nothing happens. I do hear some clicking when I push the buttons. I opened the front back up and the fuse was getting hot. Not sure if that was normal.

It started when the washer quit mid cycle and the water would not pump out and nothing would happen. No hum, nothing.

could something else be bad which caused the fuse to blow or, could the fuse going bad caused something else to be bad now?

Default update, I think the solenoid is also bad

could this be the issue, if the solenoid is bad will that prevent anything else from happening. when i chk it there is no current going thru it at all...but that would mean they both went bad almost at same time.

unit is 14 year old whirlpool and trying to decide to try and fix it or just replace it.

Hi Whats the brand & model# of your dishwasher?

It sounds like your control board is bad, with it being 14 years old, it advisable NOT to fix it, as other parts are wearing as well from normal use.

Default thanks Jake

its a Whirlpool quiet Wash Plus. I had kind of come to the same conclusion after the fuse didnt do the job but I figured for a $15 part I could give it a shot.

The solenoid is definitely not working but it could be the board causing the overheating etc

No, even if the solenoid was bad it should still drain but just not fill.
