LG LDS5811 Dishwasher Pump Now Making Horrible Noise
I've had my LG LDS5811 dishwasher for less than a year now. It was working great, and I was really happy with it for several months. Then, I started making a horrible noise after it ran for a few minutes. My totally non-professional opinion was that it sounded like there wasn't enough water in the dishwasher, and the pump was having a hard time. Through experimentation, I found that the problem can be easily be reproduced by flipping a large cup or bowl upside-down in the dishwasher to collect some water while it's running. After a few minutes, the pump starts making the noise. When I first got the dishwasher and this happened, the dishwasher would stop, fill up with a little more water, then happily start up again. It doesn't do this anymore.
A service man was at our house three times to adjust hoses, replace the pump, and replace the circuit board. Nothing fixed the problem.
So, how does this dishwasher detect a low water conditon? As I said before, it used to correct itself if it found that it was in this condition, but not anymore.
