Yup, that appears to have done it. It really surprises me however that for such a common replacement motor that the install instructions didn't address the thermostat wire. Oh well, I'm now wearing dry clothes and my house isn't on fire. All's well that ends well.
Now, if I could only figure out why I ended up with one extra screw!
