Yes, more likely the belt, I'd check that first.
Dryer drum belt, Manufacturer Number 134503600

Dryer was manufactured in 01/06. Long story short, when you push the start button, (regardless of settings) there is a humming noise, but the drum doesn't start to turn. I am wondering if this is a belt or motor, or should I just get to ripping this thing apart to find out?
Thank you for any help offered up in advance.

Jake, I took the top off of the dryer, and I think the belt definitely needs to be replaced. What I did discover is that the belt is worn, but the dryer will spin now when there is no load inside the dryer. As long as there is any weight within the drum, it returns to it state of meditation hummmmmmmm. Does this new symptom lead me down an additional path, or will a belt cure all my woes?
Ok, from that information, then its your motor thats bad.

Jake I think I am going crazy. I have a new motor and new blower housing (other one refused to come off the drive shaft of the other motor) but when I took the dryer apart the first time, I got a separate ball bearing that I have no idea where to put it. I think this is the bearing for removing static electricity. It is about 1/2" in diameter, but I dont have a clue where to put this thing. Can you advise? Sorry for not having a clue as to what I am doing.![]()
Is it the small ball bearing in this kit below? At the video time starting at 2:20?

Quick answer, no. Now I have no idea where this ball bearing came from. It is about 1/2" in diameter and doesn't look like it has any grease on it at all. I think it's a rouge bearing.
Ok, then I really don't know either.
